LOCAL OUTREACH

The people of Ruhl's Church volunteer with a variety of ministries in the local area. The church, as an organization, also provides support to a number of local ministries as we work together to make Manheim and Lancaster County a better place for its residents. We also hold Community Outreach events at the church building, such as the few described below.

  • COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS HELD AT RUHL'S CHURCH

    GOD'S CLOTHING CLOSET

God's Clothing Closet opens before the start of each school year. All donated clothing items for men, women and children are provided to shoppers free of charge. This has become one of our most popular and impactful events, with thousands of pieces of clothing being distributed on an annual basis. In 2019, we served a record of 660 people. Have clothes to donate? We accept gently used clothing all year long. Please call the church office at 717-665-3400 to make arrangements to drop off.

  • VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Each summer, the fellowship hall transforms from a gym to an environment of adventure for children ages 3 through 6th grade. Through a different theme each year, they learn about God and His creation through Bible stories and live drama, while enjoying games, a snack and craft time.

LOCAL MINISTRIES

  • ALIGN PREGNANCY SERVICES

Align Life Ministries, formerly SVPC, offers hope and help to people who are experiencing an unintended pregnancy. We have an ongoing collection for Align. Look for the manger in our lobby where you can place your donations of baby items, including clothing, diapers, lotions, bottles and much more to help mothers all around our area

  • CLARE HOUSE

Clare House serves homeless women and children in a caring environment. Every day they receive calls from women who find themselves homeless as a result of abusive relationships, addiction, loss of employment or simply slipping through "the system". Clare House provides a safe place for these women and their children. A Life Skills Director provides life skills training and support for the women to help them reach their potential and become independent, self-sufficient and confident individuals.

  • MANHEIM CENTRAL FOOD BANK

We have an ongoing collection for the Manheim Central Food Pantry. A shopping cart is in our lobby to place your donations. We strive to help those who are local and in need. Registered clients of the Manheim Central Food Pantry receive food, household products and personal care items once a month based on family size.

  • MILAGRO HOUSE

Milagro House provides education, housing and support services for women and children who would otherwise be experiencing homelessness. Their vision is to prepare women to move from dependency to self-sufficiency. The Educational component of their program is the catalyst for women to move from dependency to independence through meaningful employment at a self-sustaining wage.

  • NORTH STAR INITIATIVE

North Star Initiative located in Lititz, PA supports women who are survivors of domestic sex trafficking by providing physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual care through a Christ-centered focus. In December 2017 they opened The Harbor, a restoration home and program for female sex-trafficking survivors. It has a capacity of 10 residents and offers a 6-to-8-month program. They receive therapy, medical services, legal services and life skills training. Please pray for these women and this ministry to them.
